Scott Hudson's Showcase
When I began my journey to complete my Master of Arts in Educational Technology, I had no idea there were so many technologies that aid both students and teacher. In this showcase, you will find a variety of technological tools which shows the many ways I have been positively affected as a learner and a teacher.
Digital Storybook
Digital storybooks are great ways to give creative students a different way to complete an assignment. Here, I used Windows Live Movie Maker to whimsically show different ways my family likes to learn.
Websites
A major concept in educational technology is that the internet provides students with many learning opportunities. Websites can be used as platforms for students to complete assignments, places where students can find missing assignments, where teachers can embed tutorials, and blog with students amongst many other possibilites.
Blog
The ability to communicate with others has never been easier, and the internet has many platforms to do so. Many students are proficient writers and blogging provides great learning opportunities as people can post comments, edit, critique, and work with a team.
Prezi
To be able to reach all children in a classroom, teachers cannot resort to the same methods of instruction everyday. Prezi provides outstanding alternatives to frame and cell-based presentations and can be embedded into blogs and websites.
Screencasts
Platforms that allow students to show their creativity are growing in numbers. Jing and Screencast allow students to use screenshots to tell a tale, instruct, and has many other potential uses. The screencasts here instruct students to design a website on Weebly.
